Hey, there! I’m Clarice, a bookworm, music-loving, food-obsessed, Northwest mom. Thanks for stopping by my page and taking the time to get to know me a little bit. Pursuing the Simple Life is a fresh, new blog I started just a few short months ago. I started this blog with the desire to connect with and inspire mothers to make time to take care of their own health and mental well-being, as well as that of their families’.
In other words, Pursuing the Simple Life is about taking time to stop and smell the rhododendrons. Although it may sound like a trendy, hipster catch-phrase, I chose my blog’s name with intention. I have the nasty habit of over-planning and over-doing things. And in the process I miss some of the most precious moments in life. I long for a more slow paced, quiet life style, but I struggle to create that. It can be difficult to separate the necessary from the unnecessary at times. So, I am actively trying to create and pursue a more simple life. Hence the name of my blog.
I hope to share my experiences as I strive to let go of the unnecessary, while creating more space for the quiet, still moments in my day. While you’re here, check out my posts Why I Make New Year’s Resolutions and My 2017 Resolutions to see some of the ways I take a “time out for mom.” I’m always looking for new inspiration, so I hope you’ll share how you take time for yourself as well.
